Spark the Change - Design The Future. Taking up Brian Eno's challenge to Campfire, we invite our members to dream up and share new social ideas. There isn’t any money in a lot of these ideas, so they don’t get aggressively promoted and are often ignored by the media. We would like to see those ideas coming out into the open to be tried, tested and improved.

Add your highlights of an extraordinary year and your hopes for the future. What inspired you this year, what frustrated you, your discoveries, passions, events, sights and sounds, inspirations, flavours, meditations, activist moments... whatever made the year what it was for you. And your hopes for 2020. Please create a post on Campfire and ask to be added to the Project - we'd love to hear from you.

As part of my MA course from 2016-18 I began designing plywood self-assembly toys using laser cutting. I wanted environmentally friendly designs with good play values. The first really successful design was for a helicopter, revisiting an old design from my youth for a hand-made toy . Assembly was simple and did not require glue, and there were moving parts and a working winch. I added a set of stickers (cut with a vinyl cutter) for a rescue (Red Cross and Red Crescent) helicopter.
