Learner, listener, observer, maker; crafting the perceived impossible to the possible; specialties include Cornish folk dance as @scootskernow, picking up languages, translating chaos into simplicity, grappling with whatever tech is on hand to support day-to-day life and work. Love world musics, steppin' time, and the warmth and sounds of the sea, the moors and the hedgerows, lighting beacons, and keeping the good fires burning. Live in sunny Cornwall with my boys :)
Work in the fast-changing world of "digital" with a great bunch of strategic designers and software engineers across the globe in one of the world's most ethical companies.
Latest home project was #NadelikLyskerrys / Liskeard Christmas, a whole community Cornish language project, as dancer and 'beacon'. Counting in Cornish with sprouts was both practical and highly amusing! Prior to that it was "Man Engine Day, Liskeard", bringing together around 90 entertainers to support a full day of entertainment before and after the ceremony. It's not often that a 10 meter tall mechanical puppet comest to town. The event acted as a perfect catalyst to bring the town council, business, community, schools and voluntary groups together in a highly collaborative and fun way through mining heritage and Cornish language. We had plans for rain, and hadn't anticipated the 30 minute delay in the ceremony, and how to keep the larger than anticipated crowd entertained (8,500 versus the anticipated 3,500-5,000) . . . one to figure out next time.
Music from out there, both live and recorded.
Exceptional immersive theatre and dance.
My friends and families at home and abroad.
Past creative projects with amazingly inspirational people.
