This post by Nell Watson provides useful information on the new coronavirus and precautionary measures one may want to consider taking to reduce the likelihood of infection.
Most cases are not life-threatening, which is also what makes the virus a historic challenge to contain.
What are the symptoms caused by the virus from Wuhan in China, how does it spread, and should you call a doctor?

With the fear inherent in the situation arising globally, what we need is to share how we can empower ourselves to stay well. To strengthen ourselves on the inside. This includes how we nourish our bodies and what messages we choose to "consume" as well.

The current situation is likely to continue for months—sudden curfews, inconsistent quarantines, increasingly desperate conditions—though it will almost certainly shift form at some point when the tensions within it boil over. To prepare for that moment, let’s protect ourselves and each other from the threat posed by the virus, think through the questions about risk and safety that the pandemic poses, and confront the disastrous consequences of a social order that was never designed to preserve our well-being in the first place.

How interesting to actually create a post around something which is happening worldwide, but which feels like it's being reported as if it doesn't really affect us Brits.
Thanks for the heads-up - I'm off to read Neil's article right now!

So I've just read Neil's article - how clear and informative and calm, whilst providing good data, and useful protocols re hygiene and potential short-term food/supplies shortages.
He even mentions the notion of "that thing that's happening over there in that faraway country", which was my comment too.
Sobering reading, but proactive too.

Thanks for posting this @Pete Lawrence - some good thinking here, which in itself I find reassuring. This has helped me orientate and actually begin planning...
