Campfire Greek island gathering September 2019

PAROS 001 : September 21st - September 27th

We're heading to Greece for our first gathering in September 2019 - six days on the glorious island of Paros.

Over six days, this intimate gathering will aim to give you a renewed sense of purpose and vision. In the quest to create a better world, how do we find balance, strength, and drive? How do we start building resources to make a difference?

Together we can create the change we all know is possible. Simple in its setup to allow for co-creation, the event is likely to feature panels, talks, cookery classes, performance art, yoga, film, games, how-to sessions, music, a sunset cruise and more. We are utilising the open space format to allow radical participation - which empowers all members to convene their own sessions.

Tickets available via Eventbrite. These include options for event only or including accommodation (based on sharing a room). We also have a limited number of free tickets to the event only for those who can't afford to pay but really want to come. Email if you would like to apply for one.

A typical day might involve waking up to sunrise or yoga. After breakfast spend the morning in sessions, thinkshops or ‘how to’ seminars. The afternoons are free for rest or beach time, then we re-convene for further groups, sunset and dinner, followed by evening socials, which are likely to include DJ sessions, film, art, theatre, games, live music and a campfire circle.

In this age of disconnection, fear, and alienation, how do we set intention? Join us at our Greek island coming-together to explore ways we can imagine a better world and empower ourselves to actually make it happen through connection, spontaneity and celebration.

Much more to be announced as the programme takes shape...

From the UK you can either fly to Athens (planes from London, Manchester, Bristol, Luton and more via Easyjet, British Airways, Aegean, Wizz, Ryanair) and get an onward Aegean flight (takes 30 minutes) or boat from Pireus or Rafina (around 4 hours), or you fly to the nearby island of Mykonos and transfer by boat (under an hour) or via Santorini for a three hour boat transfer.

Easyjet are putting their late summer schedule on sale this week (from Thursday) so if you get in there quickly, you can find cheap prices (I have traditionally paid around £100 return if booked well in advance via Easyjet for example).

For ferry schedules, the advice is to leave until nearer the time of travel as it changes quite a lot. I have rarely booked in advance by more than a day ot two, if at all. In September there should still be a good service. Try Ferryhopper for online schedules

Hope to see you on Paros in September for some late summer sun and fun!

Milos summer house on the south west of the sunshine island of Paros is situated one kilometre from the small port of Alyki, 15 minutes drive from the main town / port of Paroikia and 20 minutes from Naoussa - great for beaches, shops and tavernas - and a few minutes minutes drive from the island's airport (only three flights a day - all small aircraft to/from Athens so very little unwanted noise).

It is situated up on a hill with spectacular 360 degree views - looking west across the water to Antiparos and (on the clearest of days) ten other Cycladic islands, from Sikinos to the south to Syros in the north, and looking inland to the mountains of Paros. Milos is also a haven for natural life and bird watching.

The nearest beaches are around 5 minutes drive away from the house where much of the activity will take place, along with another residential location nearer the port of Paroiki.  Voutakos beach, to the west of Alyki is recommended, though there are many fantastic beaches on the island, all with some of the cleanest water you'll find anywhere in the world.  Click the photo above for more on the house and the island.
