ABOUT

Campfire Convention heads to Manchester for its last Conversation event of the year (apart from the London Convention, of course) on Saturday October 21st.

The Conversation is part of Through the Mill 2

Press release :

On Saturday the 21 October 1pm the wonderful Wellington Street Mill on Pollard Street in the heart of the creative core of Ancoats, is opening its doors to unite communities new and old to celebrate the eagerly awaited Through the Mill Community Festival. Following the success of the festival last year.

The Festival will unlock the gates of Manchester’s most Creative Work Art Space and one of the few industrial buildings not converted into flats. Welcoming the community to explore the space and enjoy a day of art, music culture and the Ancoats Dog Show.

Saturday the 21st will be an action packed day for all the family with art and crafts, lice music, fashion, food, vinyl record fayre, drink, LED Hoolahoops, and fire. A Mass Northern Soul Dance Class, Yoga, Bike Maintenance and a safe bike lockup. Lasers, immersive experiences, computer class ( Fix my laptop and coding for idiots) history and architecture walks.

Come and see Ancoats rich industrial heritage as we walk round Ancoats Dispensary Hospital, the Canal Basin, historic Royal Mills, Cutting Room Square and the Ancoats Peep Holes.

Take a guided tour around Wellington Mill where residents show you the amazing work made in their studios.

There will be poetry from our rising star Patrick Davis and Campfire Conversations hosted by Mr John Robb ( Louder than War) talking to Mr Pete Lawrence - the founder of the Big Chill Festival and now Campfire Convention - about sustainable communities and the 4th Revolution Artificial Intelligence.

The vibe of the day will be relaxed so come on down scoff some healthy food washed down with a craft ale. Enjoy the First Ancoats Dog of the Year Show Judged by the effervescent Sally Rogers from the much loved A Man Called Adam.

The event continues into the might with music from some of the finest DJ’s presented by the Psychedelic Disco Tech. Early Bird tickets available for just £6.00 from Ticketweb
