https://images-eu.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/61%2B19dBrx0L.jpg 'Planet Hay' was first published as an A4-sized book in May 2009. It's brim-full of essays and photographs of some better known aspects of the town, such as the Literature Festival and the Thursday Market, as well as lesser known things like the workhouse, almshouses and 'Dousty's Cider.' It features too, in abundance, the townspeople, the larger than life characters who make the place what it is.
This Kindle version of the book includes all the original's text but none of the photographs. However, it's still a brilliant, informative and entertaining read about a unique and much-loved border town. Jill Hall, Writer and Critic.

“I love ‘Planet Hay’ – many congratulations Huw!” Dame Judi Dench, Actress. “A fabulous book!”
Peter Florence, Director of Hay Festival of Literature. “A handsome publication nicely written!” Sir Arnold Wesker, Playwright, Poet & Author. ‘I am enjoying your magical book very much. It is wonderfully evocative of everything I love about Hay. I shall treasure it.' Barbara Erskine, Best selling Novelist and Author of ‘Lady of Hay.’ “A truly lovely book which has brought back many happy memories. As you might know my mother lived just outside the town for many years. I particularly liked the feature on Giffords Circus and am always there on the first night.” Candida Lycett Green, Writer.
This really is a great book catching the spirit of Hay and copies still available at Addymans Books.
