When I finished a shamanic apprenticeship in 2018, one of the messages that came through loud and clear was for our group of apprentices to continue to learn as many ancient, practical and useful skills as possible and to share this message as far and wide as we could.
Cooking, bio-dynamic farming and /or gardening, fire arts, weaving, basket weaving, hedge making, wild crafting, foraging, book binding, facilitating death cafes, wild medicine, soap making, natural dyes and inks, sewing, pottery, eco and sustainable building , initiative/mystery school arts, holistic therapies, holistic music therapy, light language, free energy sound tools, oracle/rune readings and other talents that might simply delight and inspire others like cairn and rock art.
Old paradigm systems are crumbling in ways that have never been witnessed before. I admit I was only in the Guides for a day (it wasn't nearly as much fun as the Brownies!) and I do believe there are ways we can support ourselves and others by "being prepared" for whatever arises in the future and very much mirroring New Paradigm Education ideas (there's a Global Education Futures paper attached that is truly inspiring and very aligned with our thinking on this). Having worked with young people (12 to 16 year olds) I also feel that there is a profound need for us to be sharing these skills forward to these inspiring beings and our future generations.
We are all lighthouses. We shine the light on knowledge for each other. We offer each other much needed life experiences. With social distancing being the wise approach for the foreseeable future rather than in-person gatherings, we are now co-creating a Campfire Convention
"University" Lighthouse for Learning and Knowledge Sharing for good . With accessible, co-created on-line webinars, podcasts and short courses in any or all of those skills and gifts highlighted above and more. Offered as “live” events initially at a very affordable one-off investment for a core group of participants (the co-creators and co-funders), this will then be paid forward so that we can create free access to a growing library on the Campfire website of these webinars and short courses as part of the wider membership of Campfire with the intention that people can access this as an important learning platform for the new and evolving paradigm where we feel these core, practical skills will become more important than ever.
What do you think?
Would you like to broadcast from your kitchen on how to make healthy, nourishing meals using foraged foods, herbal teas, for example?
Do you have a passion for soap making or do you have another artisan craft you want to share with the world?
Would you be up for offering these through Campfire via a webinar, podcast, blended media or on-line workshop?
We'll work together to co-promote the events and find the most beneficial way to charge. All we need is a broad outline of content in terms of what you would like to offer and approximately how long it would be and what (if any) support you would need to facilitate or from a technical perspective. At the moment, we are exploring all kinds of ways of broadcasting and different technological platforms so we'll be journeying together to find the best fit for what you are offering.
