It was such a lovely opportunity to meet the members of the local Hackney XR families group and some of the garden organisers who where all so welcoming.

The space works as a community garden and to raise awareness of empty spaces in the city, grow food for the local community and increase biodiversity. The event on Sunday was an Harvest open day with lots of activities including seed swapping, bulb planting, block printing, leaf crafting. There was a geodesic dome which had been donated so even in the colder months the workshops could still take place. All visitors where encouraged to bring Vegan cakes and hot water so my daughter and friends where very busy all day Saturday baking Lemon Poppy seed cupcakes which went down very well it seems. It was such a lovely opportunity to meet the members of the local Hackney XR families group and some of the garden organisers who where so all welcoming. London really needs more of these amazing places and we will be certainly be back. The Sunday events take place on the first weekend of the month. 231 Graham Road London, United Kingdom E8 1BS
