This was one of those mornings when i didn't really want to get out of bed but having done so there was no option but to get out into the wind and rain and enjoy the delights of Gwithian Beach, just to the north and around the bay from St Ives on the northern Cornish coast.

Dog walkers were out on force as were surfers. It was the first time in a while I've work three layers in the daytime in August plus my trusty Cornish fisherman's mac, purchased last time I was in St Ives on a March day two years ago when the weather was considerably more benign than this soaking summer in the UK.

Live not far from Gwithian. Always a good place to walk, relax, ponder and chill whatever the weather!
